Last night’s show was pretty straightforward in its elevation of Rak-Su and dismissal of Leon. Apart from the new outright favourites and Lloyd-from-the-Valleys, it felt like each act was deramped to some degree. We’ll go into more detail on some of the treatments in our midweek article.
Meanwhile, tonight’s event looks harder to call, with questions to answer. Will Grace Davies be deramped, and if so, by how much? We assume she was reasonably far ahead of the field last weekend. This time she resorts to a cover, although Anne-Marie is in her comfort zone.
Tracyleanne Jefford received one of the most positive edits last weekend, and we expect her journey to continue with J-Lo’s ‘Ain’t Your Mama’. The show likes to defy expectations with one of the underdogs going into the live shows, and Tracyleanne was the biggest underdog of them all. We’d rather look elsewhere in tonight’s elimination market.
Tracyleanne’s excellent treatment was at the expense of the other female over, Talia Dean. It’ll be interesting to see if producers now make a clear choice between the male acts in this category: Kevin Davy White and Matt Linnen. It feels like that could go either way, although Kevin taking on Santana’s ‘Smooth’ seems like a safer option than Matt performing the iconic ‘Livin La Vida Loca’. Matt’s reputation as a ladies’ man continues in the tabloids:

Producers may be kind enough to both tonight, and target one of the girls instead. Rai-Elle looks most in danger in this strong category, although she does have enough spark to get herself out of trouble if given the chance with ‘Bailando’. Alisah and Holly have strong voices and were given reasonable enough edits last weekend. Like Kevin and Matt, it feels like this evening will tell us more about which is preferred. Alisah steps away from the power ballads with J-Lo’s ‘Let’s Get Loud’, while Holly has the smash hit ‘Despacito’. It’s an interesting risk in both cases.
So while Leon felt like the deserving favourite to go last night – with treatment to match – tonight is more intriguing in every respect. We look forward to hearing your thoughts as it unfolds – keep the conversation going below.
I think theyll go for rai Elle to even out the categories. They can’t have 4 girls and 4 groups and then 2 of the other category but at th3 same time there r a lot of male acts so wouldn’t be surprised for Kevin to go. Only 6 girls in the house compared to the 12 boys
Agree with this and running order leak suggests it’s the correct theory… managed to take 6.00 on Rai-Elle to go
Matt 9/2 has to be one one of the most mis priced bets ive seen in some time. Should be at least 20s
My feeling is that “Livin la vida loca” is not a song that would suit Matt’s voice at all. His vocal appeal is the tone of his voice (supposedly), not the power of it. This song requires the latter only, so this could be a car crash that exposes his limits. Tonight is a relatively strong field, so he is in the elimination mix (especially if Kevin and Tracey-Leanne deliver)
I agree that its a terrible song choice for him, but my view is this is to stop him gaining more support. No way does he finish bottom of the vote tonight, it would take the mother of all stitch ups to get him there.
Matt in pimp tonight according to tellystats.
He will be closer to top of the vote than bottom with pimp.
The song are on iTunes now, through just listening to the previews Matt sounds the best. It’s a stripped back version, it suits his voice.
Hmmm potential vote topper?
I would guess that is the plan. I assume he finished second to Rak Su last week and is the strongest over.
Give him as much running order advantage over Grace as possible and don’t have a repeat of the Rak Su/Grace showdown.
This is just from the previews, but Holly sounds by far the worst IMO.
I thought Alisah was dowdy compared to Rai-Elle, Holly, and Grace last week. Making her do J-Lo could be a mess, like messy plane ticket back to the Philippines mess.
RUNNING ORDER, as per TellyMix
Grace
Tracyleanne
Rai-Elle
Holly
Kevin
Alisah
Matt
I eat my words, Rai-Elle seems to be the target although Tracyleanne may get some splash damage. Sunday’s agenda at the top level seems to be to weaken Grace’s vote share. Her win last week must have been huge.
That is the exact opposite way around I expected the running order this week. Given her song choice, I thought Alisah would be up first, with Grace on last as she wasn’t last week.
The importance of the running order is slightly diluted, as Sam being in the pimp slot last night proved. I think comments and VT are far more important in shaping the mood of a contestant this year, even from trap one. I’ll be interested to see how Grace is treated tonight.
I have a feeling tonight’s running order may have more to do with the long Strictly overlap than with normal dead/pimp slot positions. Grace will be on before Strictly starts, but the others may get lost…
A lot of Strictly viewers just don’t watch TXF at all now though, so I think the overlap matters less than it did. Last week there were only about half a million extra viewers after SCD ended, and probably those people are less likely to vote in the first place.
Will be an ominous sign for the rest of the field if Grace wins this from trap 1. Wouldn’t surprise me if she does it
Ive gone in at 5s for Rai-el to go hopefully another nice winner to add to Talia last week.
All app votes to Tracey for me. Looks to be a 2 horse race for elimination tonight.
Oh dear definate deramp for Grace here. Colour vomit and podium. Awful outfit too. Looks like big bird from sesame street lol
Agree a bit but in fact it’s coming across really well tbh
Ciao Adios, she’s done…
Though this is definitely more just wanting to bring her down to earth.
I think it’s trying to be 80’s retro
And Louis straight in with the versatility line too…
Wow, I loved that. Not sure how it will go down but that’s the performance of the series so far for me.
There are signs of a deramp here from Nicole, but I thought her performance was good and her VT was charming.
have you been drinking heavily today?
That was tuneless by the end and hard to watch, especially as when she tried to get off the podium… Grace has no Grace when it comes to movement
Probably blinded by my love for that song, and the fact that the entire staging team seem to have focussed on grace tonight rather than bother with anybody last night.
But no, not had a drop of alcohol all weekend! I loved it!
I like Grace, but that was truly hideous. anyone else would be in huge trouble after that. she missed the big note by a mile and it distressed my cat….
Those dance moves were brought to you by Lauren Platt. I think Nicole and Simon’s comments would be seen as fair.
Lol im dead brought to you by Lauren. Don’t you think it was similar to Louisa a good week one but then a week 2 fail with an upbeat song. She’ll do another ballad next week but a last minute song change for holly and holly will shine. Lol maybe something along those lines. Thus year is gonna be very much like 2015 grace will come out on top no matter what. The cutkelvins r like fourth impact Reggie n Billie r raksu. Che is Matt. Holly is Lauren . Anton is Lloyd
(Edit) just watching Tracey Leanne red flags with her kids coming shes needed at home
Guns out for Kevin then they’re going with the theme to push weaker acts so they r easily to dispose in later weeks. The other 3 acts have strongm support
I might be making something out of nothing here, but I’m interested to see how they treat Tracyleanne is slot 2. It’s already done for Spencer and Leon and although Kevin survived it last Sunday but they certainly didn’t give him much help, it was just Talia was treated worse.
Notice how Nicole pigeonholed her demographic by saying she’s doing it for all the mums out there?
A very kind VT for Tracy – you could see she had been crying when filmed with the implication that she was moved by being reunited with her kids. The song is a lot more underwhelming than last week’s though but I’d still think the VT will keep her safe this week
That VT couldn’t have been more helpful though following up one about being a mum with ‘Ain’t Your Mama’ is… interesting. Very good comments from the judges – that wasn’t a shoot down from trap two.
That was bad from Tracy but they are rooting to keep her in. Positive vt positive comments. The knives will be out for rai ell I’m guessing.
Love the contrast between traceyleanne’s emotional kids VT to “Ain’t your mama”
Treated very kindly once more. They don’t want her gone just yet.
Ouch this is pretty painful too
There’s some interesting notes in there for sure 🙂
Tonight is truly awful….
Standing ovation from the judges suggests she isn’t on the kill list this weekend
Oh god 4 way SO 🙁
Four judge standing ovation trumps colour vomit all over the staging. Decent VT about being starstruck for Rai-Elle too; if anything Grace has ben treated the worst out of the first three.
Based on the treatment so far could they just be seeing who can get over Grace?
Jeez that was painful. 4JSO though, the VT was relatively nondescript as far as I’m concerned – comments seem enthusiastic. Gunning for Holly?
They could be gunning for any of the final four IMO – I think we may see a Kevin or Alisah take down personally. Matt might need to be softened up a bit more. I still think Holly is Beta Girl but after Grace won the vote last week they might decide she is surplus to requirements.
Did Rai-Elle just nick Tracy-Leanne crayons and paint the stage with her colour vomit?
Sniper got Rai-Elle and Tracy-Leanne firmly in his sight.
Rita Ora likes Grace and Rak Su. I’m sure completely unscripted.
Jack’s popping up in VTs tonight, first Grace’s, now Holly’s.
Reminds me of Fleur in her year.
The judges have gone mental. That was absolutely awful from Holly. Forgot the words too.
I don’t think she forgot the word – she ran out of breath so had to take one over a lyric. She covered it up reasonably well. I thought it was the best performance of the night so far… not that that’s saying much.
Someone has slipped the judges happy pills.
Judges comments tonight are very confusing, are they listening to the same thing?
What the shit was that?! I’m a fan of Holly’s but that performance did her no favours. This is why the show is shedding viewers – their praise for her was absurd.
I jumped on the 9/1 thinking they was gonna go in for the kill for an awful vocal performance and 2 of them were on their flipping feet!
Kevin miles ahead of the field there.
Are they going to target someone tonight? They’re running out of options.
Even if they wanted to go for him Kevin performed his way out that.
Remember when a standing ovation used to be significant? Feels like they stand up every other performance these days
I’ve gone on Tracey.
At least Sharon can remember the name of her foreign act and where she comes from this year, I guess.
Authentic seems to be the buzzword for this evening – relates closely to original of course
… well, she certainly got loud.
LOL….did Dermot just say “Never gonna see that dance again?” Oh dear
Watching on delay so about 15min behind the broadcast. Why does Holly remind me of the lovechild of Emily Middlemass from 2016 and Lucie Jones from 2009?
what the hell is this staging for matt.
Hmm, takedown attempt from the pimp slot? Switching the song up, red-and-black followed by fire, starting with him boxed up and boxing him up at the end, Louis with complacent comments about him being safe, Simon with critique which might not be seen as unfair – not harsh enough to build votes. Comparison to that wellknown singer Tom Hardy…
Tracey to go.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see Grace top the vote again (by default). Maybe Kevin.
I reckon Alisah’s going.
Can’t see Grace topping the vote after they showed her mangling the high note in the recap.
I’d forgotton how awful the first 3 were
Not that the others were that much better
Savan Kotecha is actually a much better prize than I thought they would have
Kevin was excellent. Authenticity buttons pushed with the guitar for good measure.
I voted for Grace. Wanna see this prize fight idea totally backfire.
I think the main point of the weekend has been to pull Grace back to the field, with the knowledge that they can let her fly again if/when needed.
I could see any out of TracyL, Rai-Elle or Alisah going. If I had to pick one it would be TracyL, they may have been happy not to have a clear target if she was just hovering over the drop zone last week and this week was less memorable.
Who’s winning is equally difficult. Based on performance it should be Kevin. But I’d still think Grace could hold on to enough votes based on her whole time on the show (could be Matt aswell).
Alisah v Tracey is a close call. If I had a spare few quid I would chuck it on Alisah.
Grace won’t have topped the vote.
With a 5 minute vote anyone could go…even Grace.
Nah, producers wouldn’t risk a 5 minute window if there was any chance of Grace going.
Last night’s window was 14 minutes long. What’s the reason behind the disparity?
Shoehorning the Prize Fight into the running order and the flash vote means they can’t keep the lines open over the interval act like they do on Saturday.
An intresting prize fight this is
Kevin could take this.
Pleasantly surprised at Kevin winning!
I’d love Kevin to beat RakSu.
From a non gambling point of view, it’s good to see the public vote for Kevin after he had the best performance of the weekend.
I think it’s Tracyleanne to go, although Rai-Elle, Alisah and even Holly could be out.
Managed to miss the vote entirely as teenage son demanded food just as Matt Linnen was finishing. That is a ridiculously short window
How long do Strictly, The Voice and Eurovision generally have?
Kevin to win this would be brilliant. I really don’t get the love for Rak-Su at all.
The backing screens behind Kevin reminds me of The X Factor ‘X’.
Come on kevin!
All 5 app votes on Kevin to beat Rak-Su
Love when Dermot gets flustered when people go off-script.
I’m thinking Kevin to win the prize fight. Hard to call who is going to go – I’d say between Rae Elle or Alisah but it’s hard to know who was in the producers cross hairs.
Think u could safely say producers were relaxed about who goes
Well done Kevin but I have the feeling the producers may try to send him to the French Embassy shortly.
Did Simon roll his eyes at Kevin winning that?
I thought he mouthed the F-Bomb actually
I didn’t just see him roll his eyes, I thought I saw him mouth “Boll*cks” and look decidedly pee’d off. I’ll need to re-watch it.
Well, what is that producer going to do with Kevin?
Good for Kevin.
Save order:
Kevin (winner of the vote)
——————————————–
Holly
Alisah
Matt
Grace
Rai-Elle
Even with a favourable VT trap two strikes again.
Easy kill.
Double elimination on both nights next week. Theme, I think Dermot said, is the music of George Michael. I bet Sam gets Faith.
I can’t see how the music of George Michael can be counted as current? Unless it’s about ‘making it your own’.
Rak-Su will perform their original song George, a tribute to George Michael
Grace is writing The Ballad of Hampstead Heath as we speak
Oh, second up really is the new death slot isn’t it? Sad to see TraceyLeanne go, I think the show could have done with her around for another week at least.
Double both nights next week, back to maudlin themes with George Michael songs.
George has plenty of uptempo songs too.. but it’s not good news for Grace and Rak-Su if they can’t do their own songs
Wonder if Rak-Su can really win this if they’ve lost two prize fights when they probably should have won both.
Well, they lost to Grace first week, then to Kevin (realistically not a contender), who in turn beat Grace.
They’ve probably had the best results so far of any of the acts despite not winning a prize fight.
The question is enough of the public open to voting for them that they can win a two horse race (which the final at some point will be).
It depends how close they’ve been.
I still think they’ll let Grace win as the safer choice, but if they want Rak-Su they can get them above anybody I think.
They could always do a Strictly and have three people still in on the Sunday night.
Yes Kevin isn’t realistically a contender, which is why it’s surprising Rak-Su couldn’t even beat him. Grace had a bad night whereas Rak-Su have lost two fights with good original songs.
In the context of the night it’s not surprising Kevin won. But it obviously isn’t going to last very long, hence not a contender.
The show has no idea what it is or who it’s trying to appeal to anymore. The venn diagram of people who love the new latin trend and people who want 12 karaoke George Michael covers are almost two separate circles.
You discount the (car crash potential) Wham! songs though 🙂
I see what you did there.
Maybe now the producers will stop thinking Raksu are the best thing since sliced bread.
Yep Simon rolled his eyes and issued some expletive that a lip reader could presumably decode. They sold Kevin hard tonight. Fair enough to ensure different people win the prize fight to avoid boredom and irritation but I suspect the hope was to send an act with their own material. Do I recall Kevin doing anything original? Not sure – does anyone else remember?
Kevin did an original at judges houses!
Thanks, I missed some of that. So Kevin can take some original material to the recording studio but it didn’t look like plan A for him to defeat Raksu. I used all my app votes to support him because I am already getting annoyed with the huge fuss around Raksu and I suspect I wasn’t alone in that.
George Michael week means raksu in danger. I’m not familiar with his material so old the types of song but tahts alarming for a lot of acts. Also what will be the line up groups and overs then who would go jack and joel and sean and connor or maybe theyll ax Kevin. For sunday with girls and boys Sam and rai Elle
Rak-Su doing George Michael could be interesting. Grace back on top methinks. They picked this weekends theme brilliantly to get a different winner.
Tonight will have no impact on TPTB’s support of Rak-Su. It’s an absolute given that they are signing these guys whether or not they win the show. The question mark is Grace. They dampened her vote tonight without really doing any lasting damage and I think that means that they still want to sign her too. If they genuinely had no interest they could have stuck the knife in much more.
I can’t post the video of Simon’s reaction to Kevin’s win here. I’ve send it by email.
Kevin’s performance reminded me of Ben Haenows break out performance of Highway to Hell they never got him from topping the vote no matter how hard they tried and I feel this could be the case here could be a bit of a dark horse.
If they’re worried about that, they’ll just take away his guitar from him and stress he’s a foreigner! Maybe even schedule a visit home… or to the embassy!
Id imagine hes gone from almost bottom to topping a vote in 1 week. They could get him out next week in a double if they wanted to.
My money would be on Jack & Joel getting a Wham! song, such as Club Tropicana or Wake Me Up Before You Go Go. Maybe Rak-Su will do an updated version of Wham Rap?
What tonight demonstrated is just how easy it is to top a free vote that only lasts a matter of minutes. This was a guy who was trading at around 66/1 for the outright. And he was favourite to go at one point last weekend and one of the favourites this weekend. Any contestant that gets the help Raksu have had will win a vote. But ultimately in a head to head the public are not sold on them.
Last night I had Jack & Joel as certs to go in Week 3 but they have Wham! vibes so maybe they can be safe?
Can see Grace doing Adele’s version of Fast Love next week. They must be quite confident in Rak Sus voting power if they don’t need to perform their orginal material for a week or they are starting to realise all there songs sound exactly the same and don’t want people getting sick of them. They will want to keep their originals for the final and their winners single.
I don’t think Rak-Su NOT WINNING the two weeks is planned.
They don’t need to win the prize fight they just need to top the vote which they could be doing. The prize fight vote is different and probably has a smaller number of votes cast and different people voting.
wait, the prize fight has its own votes? I thought the main performance votes carried over or something. I stand corrected
No, it’s a separate flash vote.
I struggle to see Rak-Su polling more than 30%
They top the votes now because the field is bigger and 20% of the vote is probably enough. They’re popular with their audience, but their appeal is ultimately limited within the whole xfactor audience. I think this is what we’re seeing with the prize fight votes (the more traditional xfactor voter friendly acts are beating them when head to head)
Good point.
Rak-Su losing the prize vote is alarming and presumably not what TPTB had in mind, but it’s not really damning. My impression on this vote is that many aren’t particularly bothered, compared to how they are on the night. In this frame, voting levels are a dodgy gauge of how they will fare when the performers merge Live shows.
Simon’s reaction was priceless. Spontaneous or planned, even if only by him?
I don’t think Rak Su coming second was in the plan, evident by Simon’s reaction, but I don’t think it’s a disaster. Quite good if anything, makes everything seem less predictable.
The guns will be out for Kevin in the coming weeks though. If you’d have told me before last weekends live shows that Kevin would have topped the week two vote I’d have laughed you off the internet!
I firmly believe the script for tonight had ‘Rak Su win the price , going up against anyone but Grace’ scribbled somewhere – one out of two, nevermind. There is literally no chance that Kevin will be allowed anywhere near the final; his act is too far removed from anything that Simon Cowell would want to work with. I also do not think he would be a vote hoover in the Cardle/Haenow mold, that sounds more like Matt Linnen.
So far it seems to have gone mainly to plan, two weeks, two weak categories cut in half. This also allows them the switch the pairings for next weekend if they feel it may help them.
George Michael has an amazingly varied back catalog, and the shout out above that sees Grace do Adele doing FastLove sounds about right, as does Sam doing Faith(providing they want to help him). I cannot see Rak Su doing Wham! Rap, as the words are so dated and partly un PC now, but no doubt they will take whatever song and rap over it, in which case they deserve to be eliminated on grounds of cultural vandalism.
There are also a few songs that are quite poisonous, so look out for who will get Wake Me Up or Last Christmas…
Rai Elle is a goner next week so r jack and Joel idk bout the other 2 thought. I could see guns out for Kevin. But depends on the springs they cant split the girl and group cus then it’ll be uneven. I think sean and connor could be in danger aswell as Sam black too. If were looking at a top 8 I think it’ll be Lloyd raksu the cutkelvins grace holly alisah Matt
and Kevin that would why eh top 8 if everyone was mixed but with the split i could see Kevin and alisah In danger.
Based on the show’s terms and conditions, it will be one per category, but we will need to watch out if they change that mid-week
We need to talk about Kevin. I didn’t see him topping a vote in this series in a million years (though backed it during the show), but it was very well deserved. Interestingly enough I think every result that has happened thus far has been the right one. Anyone think he can sneak a final place now? I guess he would fit the solo male they require in each and every final line up. But I think Lloyd’s nan would have something to say about that.
I think Kevin’s vote will be easy to deflate so I cant see him making the final. Plus TPTB wouldnt want him to win in a million years.
Kevin has served the purpose of switching up the prize vote. Can easily see him going next week.
Would throw the Cutkelvins into the mix as possible goners. Dont understand why people still think this band have any future given their treatment this weekend. All of tonight’s contestants got better treatment. Total cannon-fodder.
I actually put a bet on them last night. There’s a big red bus coming their way.
8Except the judges didnt critical their actually performance only the unity between the 3 siblings. The cutkelvins are clearly the beta so that means jack and Joel and sean and connor r gonna go before them which means they r safe for another week. Also next week is about what acts they want on tour no doubt they’ll want the cutkelvins. I would say maybe make some bets on Matt if he couldn’t top with a pimp slot he could be in danger. If he pulled anything below 3rd i could see producers getting rid of him to push Kevin as the alpha.
https://tellymix.co.uk/reality-tv/the-x-factor/336607-x-factor-2017-poll-whos-favourite-finalists-vote-week-3.html I would say this pill tends to be relatively accurate besides alisah vote.
I can’t say I’m convinced. I think the bus is coming; but it’s got a couple of stops to make first.
If you think Tellymix’s poll is fairly accurate, I’m afraid to tell you that you have confirmation bias
Umm apparently its an each eliminated from each category which means they can easily get rid of Kevin so that means jack and Joel Sam and rai Elle r goners
Next week could bring back the sing off. The rule was only that the bottom act will go out. Nothing to stop a sing off between second and third if they want more control over which other act goes.
Whilst I felt Kevin’s win was deserved, I wouldn’t rule out an element of ‘vote against Rak-su’ in the prize fight vote, which is possible in a head to head vote.
They’ve scrapped the sing off compleaty I think theyll do an act from each category
It can’t be one from each category surely? There are only 2 Overs left and 2 Boys. I think it’ll be the two lowest in the vote on both Saturday and Sunday.
There is 6 actsbper night with 2 to leave thats going to be very tight. Eliminating an act from each category is what is stated on the x factor website nothing is mentioned about double eliminations. Although there is only 2 boys and overs I can’t still see them following through with this plan
I doubt it the rules will state it as one from each category. Its too obviously unfair to the Overs and the Boys having 1 of 2 going compared to 1 of 4 for the others….especially as they probably have enough easily disposable fodder to manipulate it in such a divisive way.
Actually thought the same but someone pointed out a week or so ago that it will be. Having two kills free-for-all will, in theory, open up the possibility that the final 8 will be 4 groups 4 girls
Certainly in my family, there was quite a noticeable “vote against Raksu” moment when it came to the Prize Fight. I like the guys and generally enjoy their music but am already bored with the OTT hype. It’s the same response we had with Louisa Johnson. Keep telling us these people are brilliant and we’ll stop playing ball. Childish but kinda fun. I’ve met plenty of people who voted Leave for somewhat similar rebellious reasons…..
removing one from each category gives TBTB the perfect opportunity to get rid of Matt, given that KDW has demonstrated his ability to outscore him. he got the pimp this week so no probs putting him in trap 2 next week. i’d suggest giving him ‘Outside’ just to make sure 😉
To be fair Kevin probably just about polled better than Grace and Matt I can’t see there being much between them
Kevin beating RAP-Su was probably the highlight of the series for me so far. Public do really love underdogs!
Sadly, I can see Kevin getting Anton’d next week. Maybe they’ll get him to sing ‘Wake Me Up Before U Go-go’. lol 🙂
I had comments lined up but my computer crashed so I will keep it short and sweet.
GRACE. Who knew you can do uptempo ow! Comments suggest they’re trying to gauge her level of support when given minimal help.
TRACYLEANNE. VT is positive. Song drowns out her tone, which leaves you with little reason to vote for her, on a musical perspective.
RAI-ELLE. She knew Spanish, as per the VT, so her Spanish sounded effortless. The staging is colourful but NOT messy; when the camera focuses on her, the lighting is very clean. Voice is exposed but the performance level is commendable.
HOLLY. She didn’t know Spanish like Sam, but showing her effort makes her look good. Staging was “star” but the projections of her face looked like zombies. She struggled mightily but held it together overall (unlike Tamera Foster a few years back) and the judges focused on the latter.
KEVIN. Again, shown to be a musical journeyman rather than a foreigner. His performance was solid, he was given room to do his thing, and this is what I had in mind when I was bullish on his song when it was revealed. Not sure if TPTB setting him up as Alpha Over or they’re just confident they can send him home any time.
ALISAH. She’s portrayed to be representing the Philippines. She made this weird bird-like noise mid-song and the staging looked like an animal sacrifice. Simon’s comment has a parallel in JJ: solid but not recording artist.
MATT. Fighter, ladies’ man, watching the VT makes me think my initial assessment of the song choice is way off. Performance was okay overall but the staging looks like an orgy, which is minus points for his Middle England appeal, but plus points for his female appeal.
On the elimination: there was no explicit target, but I reckon it’s because Tracyleanne did not do particularly well last week so letting her run her course was feasible.
On the theme: Last time we had this, the show had more than twice as many viewers, Joe McElderry won the show with a rendition of Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me (he had the most votes for the rest of the series). More interestingly, given the mass elimination, Jedward were eliminated but Olly had the least votes.
Interesting also is who Paloma Faith and Harry will endorse.
I’ve backed Kevin , Lloyd, rai elle , cutkelvins, matt linnen and Alisha at big prices to win in the hope with producers messing about and testing the vote one of them becomes the darkhouse like saara alto last year and makes a dart to the front of the betting market with a string of solid performances and trades really low on the exchange! I think one of Rak su or grace could maybe fall away towards the end it only takes a “cold sandwich” remark from cowell to turn things upside down! I don’t believe Rak su or grace are as solid favourites as Louisa Johnson was I think they are more in the matt terry type favourite mould who stumbled over the line in the end!
My assumption is that the double elimination will be one per category. It’s what was stated in the terms and conditions prior to the start of the Lives and prevents a potential snafu where Louis or Nicole will be act-less by Week 4.
IF, however, the double elimination will be free-for-all, the category who gets paired with the Boys should feel safe because Sam Black looks like a cert to leave.
I wonder what Simon’s comment about Nicole not wanting her category was supposed to do? I think he said that aver Kevin? DId he know that it was a moment?
